We ask for your information so we can actually help you, and for no other reason. We do not sell it, we do not trade it, and we only email you what you asked us to. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
We collect only what we need to give you advice and the products you ask for. We never sell or rent your information. If you sign up for our insights email, that is the only email you will get from us, and you can unsubscribe in one click. We hate spam more than you do.
FS² (Financial Solutions Squared) is the brand under which our advisory business operates. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for email, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Mutual fund products are offered through our dealer, Designed Securities Ltd., which maintains its own privacy practices for the accounts it carries; this notice covers the information FS² collects directly from you.
Before we email your report, we send a one-time code by text to confirm the number is really yours. This protects your information from being sent to the wrong person. The number is the one you would like to be reached on, but if you tell us not to call, we never will; in that case the number is used only to deliver your report.
If you sign up for our insights email, you are giving express consent to receive occasional updates on insurance, tax, and retirement. That is the entire scope of it. We will not email you about anything you did not ask for, and we will never sell or share your address. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it immediately. If you booked a conversation or requested a report, we will use your contact details to follow up on that request, which is what you asked us to do.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We share it only where it is necessary to do what you asked:
We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access is limited to people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information as if it were our own.
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and for as long as licensing and dealer rules require us to retain client records. After that, we securely dispose of it.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw a consent you previously gave (subject to legal and contractual limits). To do any of these, or to ask a privacy question, contact us at [email protected]. If we cannot resolve your concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We may update this notice as our practices or the law change. The current version always lives on this page.
